FCO Advice

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) Travel Advice Service has been set up to guide tourists on the potential dangers they might experience when travelling to a certain destination.

Much of the time we agree with them and advise our clients accordingly. However, there are occasions we feel that their advice is ambiguous, over-cautious, out-dated and simply wrong. The FCO is a government body, accountable should things go wrong, and for this reason it has to err heavily on the side of caution and assume that all people travelling are ill-equipped to judge conditions for themselves. But we feel that so long as we are duly diligent, seek local advice by consulting our numerous contacts in each region and are flexible with our route and itinerary, trips to even the most 'dangerous ' of our destinations, will almost certainly pass off safely.

If you are wanting to travel to a place that the FCO advice against, we strongly recommend that you first see their website and then seek independent advice. To visit the FCO website please click on the logo below.
