Baltoro Glacier K2 Charity Trek

23 days, Fri 03 Sep 2010 to Sat 25 Sep 2010

K2, the Mountain of Mountains, is located in the heart of the Karakoram Range and can be seen in its entirety from Concordia. This sublime pyramid sits at the head of the Godwin Austin Glacier, which unites with a second glacier at Concordia to form the mighty Baltoro Glacier and it’s along this surreal mountain trail our route will take us. Described by many as the "Throne room of the Mountain Gods" this unique mountain region is home to four peaks above 8000m, making it the largest concentration of the highest peaks on earth. The journey to get there will first take us up the stunning Karakoram Highway and into Baltistan. From Skardu we will drive to Askole where the jeep track ends and the walking trail begins. And this trip is not just about fun, endurance and our own extraordinary experience. For the first time Wild Frontiers are running the trip as a charity challenge to raise money for our new foundation, and in particular educational facilities in this remote, but so spectacular, corner of the world.

Wild Frontiers founder, travel writer Jonny Bealby will be accompanying you on this amazing charity trek to raise funds for the Wild Frontiers Foundation. For more information about the Foundation and where the money raised will go, please click here

And if you'd like to see a video of the school in the Skardu region of Northern Pakistan that this trip will be raising money for, please click here
