Iran: Skiing in the Alborz (Recce Tour)
10 days, Fri 10 Apr 2009 to Sun 19 Apr 2009
For most, Iran is not a place associated with great skiing. This trip aims to discover Iran’s best kept secret; its exceptional skiing. Iran boasts a popular ski culture, with all the facilities (less a bar or two) of Western resorts. We will be exploring the Alborz Mountains, a long, narrow range that forms the backdrop to the capital, Tehran. To the north is the Caspian Sea which feeds the range with snow. As well as visiting the major resorts of the country such as Dizin and Shemshak, we will be exploring the backcountry with 4x4s and some touring from our base in Rudbarak.
Iranians are some of the friendliest people in the world who love to welcome foreigners and show off their beautiful country, and this trip aims to provide a perfect blend of adventure and culture.
Please note that the slideshow above are pictures from our other Wild Skiing destinations, Iran being a recce trip we don't have any photos as yet!
