Bhutan: Land of the Thunder Dragon Spring Festival Tour

16 days, Sat 15 Mar 2008 to Sun 30 Mar 2008

In March 2006 the authorities opened the border between Trashigang, in eastern Bhutan, and Guwahati in Assam, and in doing so made travel to Eastern Bhutan practicable for the first time in years. We thought this was just too good an opportunity to miss and put on a new trip that traverses the Land of the Thunder Dragon, all the way from the momentous valleys and famous monasteries of the west to the unexplored lands of the east. The trips worked so well we have continued to run them throughout 2007 and will be doing the same this year. So on this trip, not only will you get to visit the unexplored east but witness the extraordinary Paro Festival and get the chance to explore Calcutta, India’s cultural heart. All in all, an absolute humdinger of a trip.
