Thank you for a wonderful tour of Colombia which more than filled our expectations. There is such a variety of highlights and our guide Russ ensured we made most of every destination, and was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and always available - he made an excellent tour leader Cartagena may be the top, but each destination had a highlight. Bogotá with the Old Town and the Gold Museum, Villa de Leyva, our beautiful hotel, the village and the Fireworks, The colourful village of Raquira, Medellin and the Christmas lights, the coffee area and the beautiful plantation & gardens, tour of Manizales, Santa Marta and the Caribbean Sea. We also liked the old chivas.

Colombia is a wonderful country. We tagged on the Festival Tour on to the end of our honeymoon – and it is a trip that we will always remember. The people we met were friendly; the places we visited were spectacular and the scenery was absolutely stunning. It really is a country of enormous contrast and incredible warmth. There were so many highlights on this trip – the Christmas lights in Medellín, the coffee region and the mud volcano ranked very highly, as did the visit to Tayrona National Park, eating mango and chilli in Bogotá and of course the trip would not have been the same without dancing the night away in La Mayoría on the outskirts of Medellín! Thank you Wild Frontiers for making this such a fabulous trip!

I loved Colombia. Every day had a highlight for me - the gold museum in Bogota, the town of Villa de Leyva and its fireworks, the salt cathedral, unexpectedly the whole day in Medellin – Botero’s sculptures, the spectacular Christmas lights along the river and the amazing entertainment at the night club, historic Cartagena and the rainforest coming right down to tropical beaches in Tayrona National Park – not forgetting the mud volcano!. The trip was an unforgettable mix of different landscapes and activities.

I always like to visit Latin America, But Colombia is an undiscovered destination which adds an extra edge of the unknown to it. Highlights for me were the variety of landscapes and climates, from Caribbean tropical to temperate rain forest, jungle to high alpine/ arctic mountains. Incredible natural beauty and variety, particularly of plant life. The b est Spanish colonial architecture I have seen. Friendly and helpful locals. The parts of Colombia I visited did not seem threatening or dangerous… bucking the stereotype most people have who have never been there.

Colombia is a revelation. The scenery is stunning and varied, from snow capped mountains to beautiful beaches, the colonial cities are well preserved but living places too, and the whole country is injected by the spirit and vitality of a diverse population who make traveling there and meeting people a joy. Wild Frontiers showed us so much of this in two weeks and introduced us to a country people sadly tend to know for negative reasons. What a wonderful country and a fantastic trip!"

I would just like to say "Thank you" for a fantastic trip to Colombia. The itinerary was so varied - from hot sandy beaches to snow capped volcanoes - and it certainly proved this is no longer a dangerous country to travel to. Colombia is a memorable experience.

Colombia with its friendly people, interesting colonial towns, National Parks from tropical beaches to snow covered mountains and bustling historical cities is there for travellers to enjoy. Don’t delay, enjoy now. The reason for choosing this trip was that I had wanted to visit Colombia for some years. Your itinerary was definitely superior to the others I was considering so hence the choice. The major highlights for me were the historical and cultural features, Cartagena, Bogota and its museums, Medellin with the happy crowds on the river of lights and the evening entertainment, hiking in the two National Parks, visits to the old towns of V de L and Antioquia and generally being part of the day to day activity of the Colombian people... So basically (quote) the whole tour!

Viva Colombia – a country of such amazing contrasts; snow topped volcanos, exquisite beaches, natural mud baths, thermal springs, lush green coffee plantations, underground salt cathedrals,… This breathtakingly beautiful and vibrant country has so much to offer and makes visitors very welcome. Every day brings a new adventure on this trip and every evening a new experience! Definitely one to add to you ‘must do’ list.

When asked why I love Colombia, I always say it is so beautiful, the people are so welcoming and generous and there are no tourists. After my trip I can only say the country is even more beautiful than I remembered, the Colombians are more delightful than I’d remembered and there are still no tourists.
