Rajasthan: The Hills of Marwar Easy-Going (Beginners) Horse Trek
15 days, Sun 07 Nov 2010 to Sun 21 Nov 2010
By popular demand we have put together a gentle horse trek through one of the most beautiful parts of rural Rajasthan, only this time it has been specifically designed for beginners, the more experienced (but perhaps slightly nervous) rider and for those who generally like things a little more relaxed. Using our deep-rooted connections with Rawla Narendra Singh and his charming family at Castle Bijaipur, we have organised a combination tour that will include plenty of time enjoying the laid-back nature of the location – with its swimming pool, massage and yoga facilities – as well as teaching you how to ride and then undertake a short and not-too-strenuous walking horse safari. Riding the fabulous Marwari horse, a breed renowned for its grace, elegance and exotic beauty, you will ride through the southern fringes of the Aravali Hills – a region famed for high plains and plateaux, forests of juniper, unspoilt rural villages, lakes and ancient temples – making it the perfect location for such a trek. Staying at a well appointed camp to learn some techniques before setting out on safari we will ultimately return to Castle Bijaipur where we can relax before heading out to one of the most beautiful towns in India, Udiapur. Horse treks are one of the best ways of seeing rural India; on this trip, by sending along our specialist riding teacher we will teach you how.
