Rajasthan: The Hills of Marwar (Horse Trek)
14 days, Sun 17 Oct 2010 to Sat 30 Oct 2010
Using our deep-rooted connections with Rawla Narendra Singh and his charming family at Castle Bijaipur, we have put together a wonderful eight-day ride from Chittorgarh to Udaipur that will show you India at its most natural and magical. Riding the fabulous Marwari horse, a breed renowned for its grace, elegance and exotic beauty, you will travel through the southern fringes of the Aravelli Hills – a region famed for high plains and plateaux, forests of juniper, unspoilt rural villages, lakes and ancient temples – making it the perfect location for such a trek. Staying in beautifully located and well appointed camps, sometimes in old forts and lodges – home to Narendra’s relations – we reach Udaipur, one of the most beautiful towns in India. Included in the trip are two nights at the stunning Castle Bijaipur and three nights in Udaipur, making this tour a fabulous way to see a side of Rajasthan rarely glimpsed by tourists.
