Wild & Active

Knowing how some of you like to explore the world’s most beautiful, remote and interesting regions in a more active style, to complement out popular walking holidays and trekking trips we have put together a number of multi-activities trips where interesting and differing forms of conveyance, as well as cultural immersion, is the order of the day.

Multi-Activity Trips

Operating in countries as diverse as Montenegro and Kyrgyzstan, the trips emphasis is as much about exhilarating activities on the journey, as it is about the culture of the destination. On one of these adventure trips you might mountain bike through temples and jungles, trek between valleys and over passes, raft on holy rivers, and horse ride through alpine forest. But all importantly you will still experience the real life of the region by meeting the locals, staying in carefully chosen accommodation – be that yurts with eagle hunters, or palaces with princes – and enjoy the cuisine of the district.

We feel this new way of enjoying cultural trips with an activity twist will make the overall experience more exciting and rewarding than ever! And with 2012 being the year of the Olympics it is the perfect time to get out and get active!

Wild Walks & Treks

And knowing how some of you love to get truly out there, amongst the wild nature of some of the world's most remote mountain ranges, we also offer a portfolio of stunning adventures focused around – but not solely comprising – a good mountain walk.

With durations varying from one week to a month, our walking holidays and trekking trips include the Georgian Caucasus, the Kashmiri Himalayas, the Nepalese Tibetan Plateau, the Simien Mountains of Ethiopia, the Taurus Mountains of central Turkey, the Talesh Mountains of Iran, the Hindu Kush in Northern Pakistan and the remote Wakhan Corridor in north-eastern Afghanistan.

“My wild walk in Georgia was simply the best walk of my life.”

Joanne O’Connor, Travel Editor. The Observer
