Trains to Romania
In Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’, young lawyer Jonathan Harker travels from London to Transylvania by train. Not only is rail travel a more environmentally friendly alternative, but it is a more satisfying and romantic way to travel.
There are a number of possible routes, depending on how much time you have. The rail journey can take you via Cologne, Vienna and Budapest, and you may wish to spend a night or two visiting these fantastic cities on the way or on the way back.
Another option is taking the Orient Express from Paris. If you do not want to spend too much time on the train, why not get the train there and fly back? The quickest route would mean leaving London on Friday at 13.00, arriving into Brasov at 06.00 on the Sunday morning. For further details please visit the website www.seat61.com
