Over Easter......

Chilling out in Rajasthan

This trip to India's regal state of Rajasthan is the perfect combination of relaxation and adventure, putting it at the top of our list of fantastic Easter escapes! Chill out at the beautiful Castle Bijaipur, a fine heritage hotel in the heart of the spectacular Aravelli Hills, surrounded by forests of Jacaranda, lakes and ancient temples. Enjoy yoga each morning, relax by the pool, cycle or walk among the unspoilt rural villages, ride horses, paint, go bird watching, take a day trip to visit the beautiful lake city of Udaipur .....whatever takes your fancy. Walking the ancient Caravan and Tea Trail in China

Follow, on foot, part of the ancient Caravan and Tea Trail through rural villages and the stunning landscape of China's remote Yunnan Province. For more than 1,000 years the trail connected China with India via Tibet and Burma. Dizzying river valleys and towering mountain ranges made this the toughest caravan route in the world. Departs 06 April 2012.

Later in April.......

Discovering Northern Ethiopia

Starting our tour in Addis we will fly to Gonder with its medieval castles and then drive up into the wonderful Simien Mountains where we will stay at the stunning located Simien Eco-lodge. But it is from Axum that the trip really becomes quite different, as we drive - rather than fly - to the World Heritage town of Lalibela via Yeha, through Eastern Tigray and one of the most visually stunning parts of the whole country, to see some of most rarely seen rock churches. From Lalibela (which for some is considered to be the 8th wonder of the world) we then undertake an incredibly rewarding village walk, spending 2 nights with local communities in conjunction with the charity TESFA. Departs 28 April 2012.
