Montenegro has recently emerged from the shadow of its turbulent past to become one of Central Europe’s most beguiling destinations. Sandwiched between craggy granite peaks and the blue waters of the Adriatic, its rich cultural pedigree and wild beauty makes it an ideal destination for an active adventure. Its beautiful national parks are perfect for exploring on foot and by bike, whilst the UNESCO World Heritage landscapes of the Tara River Valley and the Bay of Kotor offer a breath-taking backdrop to exhilarating rafting and kayaking adventures. Add to this the caves of Lipska Pecinja and the captivating charms of Budva, Cetinje and Herceg Novi and you have the recipe for a breathless journey across one of Europe’s most exciting new countries.
We start our tour with a leisurely walk through Budva which is Montenegro's self-styled tourist capital and well known as its historic heart.
Day 2: Budva - Virpazar
Our second day starts with an exploration of some historical and heritage sites. In addition we will also explore the fascinating caverns of Lipska Pecinja and spend the night on the shore of a lake.
Day 3: Virparzar - Biogradska Gora N.P.
A wonderful day filled with some great breathtaking views of Moraco George and a hike through Biogradska Gora National park. We end the day with a well-deserved sleep in wooden cabins set in a beautiful alpine meadow.
Day 4: Hiking in the Ljevala Valley
After 4 hours of hiking, we head to Kolasin where we can develop our wall climbing skill or learn about some plant species, including healing herbs, forest fruit and some endangered species.
Day 5: Rafting on the River Tara
Today's adventures see us rafting along the exhilarating River in Durmitor National Park, home to one of Europe's deepest canyons.
Day 6: Cycling through Lovcen N.P.
Another action-packed day starts with some walks to the Black Lake. Later we'll drive to Lovcen National Park and take a scenic bike ride down to the Dalmatian Coast for some spectacular views.
Day 7: Cycling along the Adriatic coast
Today we continue our journey by cycling around one of Montenegro's most stunning natural attractions – the Bay of Kotor - to the most picturesque towns on the coast.
Day 8: Relaxing in the Bay of Kotor
On our final day we will take kayaks out and explore a charming fishing village, submarine tunnels and Dobrec Beach for some freshly barbecued fish.
Day 9: Tour ends in Dubrovnik
Here we finish our tour after breakfast with included transfers back to Dubrovnik for those requiring them.
