If you want a holiday full of variety & total contrast, love mountains, walking & monuments, look no further than the “Silk Road Wild Mountains Fabled Towns†tour. Kyrgyzstan has absolutely stunning scenery in the mountains & such welcoming & friendly locals; Uzbekistan has beautiful monuments. The two countries couldn’t be more different. We have just returned from this trip & have wonderful memories of it. The combination of staying in small hotels, a homestay, yurt & mountain camps make it varied & fun. Admittedly the yurt & mountain camps were basic, but to experience the remoteness & beauty of Kyrgyzstan you had no choice & in our opinion they were actually the most enjoyable of all the accommodation used & were well worth roughing it for.
