After taking Silver in the Wanderlust Tour Operator of the Year Awards in 2009, a little victory dance around the office was in order. So striking Gold in the 2010 awards for 'Top Website' called for a back flip! Well, an attempt at a back flip anyway....
Wanderlust - Top Travel Website 2010
Wanderlust magazine readers voted www.wildfrontiers.co.uk Top Travel Website 2010. An honour which both surprised and delighted us.
In awarding Wild Frontiers first prize in this competitive category, which received 566 nominations, Wanderlust said - ‘The genius of adventure operator Wild Frontiers’ winning website is the way it makes the most offbeat and exotic itineraries seem perfectly reasonable. Clean, frank, easy to navigate and peppered with on-the-road photos and client testimonials, it guides you from mild curiosity to credit card with uncanny ease.’
Wanderlust - Highly Commended: Top Tour Operator 2010
Wild Frontiers also received a ‘Highly Commended’ award in the Wanderlust Top Tour Operator of the Year 2010 awards during the presentations at the Destinations Travel & Holiday Show in February. The top ten operators, again as voted by Wanderlust readers, were split by only 5.4%.
Conde Nast Traveler, Top Travel Specialists Awards 2009
In addition to these two coverted awards, Jonny Bealby - head of Wild Frontiers - was included in the highly prized Conde Nast Traveler US list of 'Specialst of the Year', for his knowledge of Central Asia and the Caucasus.
Wanderlust Travel Awards 2009
Going one better than we achieved in 2007, Wild Frontiers was runner-up in the Top Tour Operator of the Year category in the Wanderlust Travel Awards as voted by its readers. With over 450 companies voted for this is no small feet, neither is the 95.4% satisfaction rating we achieved. Again, many thanks to those that voted for us.
In the same awards Wild Frontiers website was voted the 10th best in the travel industry!
And our very own Dave Watts, described by one of the judges Paul Harris, as a new Cartier-Bresson or Sebastian Salgado (wow...Go Dave!) - won best photo in the Icon catagory.
National Geographic Adventure 2009
Wild Frontiers was named in the Top 10 'Do It All' adventure companies worldwide by the editors of National Geographic Adventure magazine. The results have been published in the latest edition of National Geographic Adventure and can be seen on-line. Wild Frontiers was the only UK-based company to be named in the Top 10 'Do It All' category, so we are pretty chuffed about that too.
Wanderlust Travel Awards 2007
At Destinations Travel Show 2007 in London, Wild Frontiers won bronze in Tour Operator of the Year category as voted for by Wanderlust readers. This was a huge honour for us, to push many better-known companies down the packing order, and gave us a great beanchmark by which to set our standards.
