Who We Are

Wild Frontiers is an award-winning adventure travel company, founded in 2002 by the acclaimed travel writer Jonny Bealby, with a view to facilitating experiences similar to those he had been lucky enough to enjoy as a writer.

Gathering other travellers around him – people with the same travel ethos, experience of real travel and expertise in the travel industry – Jonny began to build a team of likeminded guides and office staff that is the bedrock of the company today.

As we like to emphasise, Wild Frontiers is a company that has been set up by travellers for travellers, and our ethos is to help adventurous souls get to incredible and inaccessible places in safety and as much comfort as local conditions allow.

We are firm believers that travelling is all about the experience and it’s in the details – the places you stay, the transport and route that gets you there, and the people you meet along the way – that make the trip; we therefore specialise in drawing on our own extensive local knowledge and array of contacts to give our clients the very best experience possible.

Companies form for many reasons: a perceived gap in the market, a clever city boy bankrolled by shrewd investors, a man with a passion. Wild Frontiers started with a simple premise, hatched high in the mountains of the Hindu Kush, of bringing others to an amazing location, to show them staggering scenery and interesting towns and to introduce them to the fascinating people that live among them. And it is this ethos that has seen our company grow and our clients return to us again and again.

But having said that we are still proud to be a small and personal company. At Wild Frontiers there is no grand design to seek venture capital, explode in growth and sell out.

With the passion we have for what we do, we are very happy – and in fact feel privileged – to have the company we have and our aim is to keep it that way.
